Single Speed Saturday.

This Saturday was the SingleSpeed Saturday for me. I rode my .243 for the first time since last year and had forgotten that I had my longe travel forks on it. This makes it excellent for going downhill, but horrible for climbing. Like as in it totally sucks for climbing with these long travel forks. On the single speed it is a longer frame, but it is short and I am unable to get the seat up high enough for myself. This adds lots of torture for myself when pedalling a singlespeed that you can't get full extension on your legs. This creates a huge burn on the lower quads. The teardrop part of the quads. It is a good way to punish yourself, and add power to your legs. I have 34/14 gearing on the bike as well. This is high gearing for a single speed and makes it tough to climb hills.

I ended up riding for about 2.5hrs on Saturday and rather enjoyed myself. Sunday I had to ride the single speed to "The Parts Source" to get a started for my car. I put the starter in my backpack and found it to be quite heavy. But I made it there and back with no problems. It was a good way to loosen up my legs from yesterdays ride. The quads and calves were a bit stiff this morning when I got myself out of bed.

Will take tomorrow off from riding tomorrow maybe, or I will see how I feel. I might just ride the rollers at a casual pace as a recovery ride.

I also changed the forks on the single speed as well this morning when I got up. The different forks makes a world of difference. Way easier to pedal the bike now.
